For the past two and a half years, Kari Miller has played several active roles as a dedicated volunteer at Geneva Community Radio. She served as the station's secretary. She also produced and hosted the eclectic music program Radio Tolerance every Thursday night on GCR. Additionally, she played a part in some of the first training sessions for teens at the Boys and Girls Club who were interested in learning to produce their own radio programs. During her time at the station, she came up with many creative ideas for everything from station promotion to fundraising. She was also responsible for the very tedious, but necessary, task of compiling and submitting all of the station's music playlists to our streaming provider every month.
Earlier this week, Kari announced that she would be leaving the area, and returning to her native Oswego County to be closer to family.
She has generously volunteered to continue to help GCR on a limited, temporary basis from her new home, until we can find a local volunteer to fill her position.
While we are sorry to lose someone with the kind of creativity and enthusiasm that Kari clearly possessed, we wish her well in all her future endeavors, and we cannot thank her enough for everything she has done for the station.
We'll miss you, Kari.
