GCR offline as we relocate our streaming setup.

Geneva Community Radio will be taken offline effective Thursday, September 24th. We are relocating our streaming setup. We will now have separate locations for our production facilities, still inside the Geneva Community Center, and our streaming operation will be moved back to its former base on Hamilton Street in Geneva.

This is being done to accommodate The Boys and Girls Club of Geneva which is in need of our former space in the community center for future club projects.

We will restore full time GCR streaming service as soon as possible. Check this space for the return of our normal program schedule.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We thank all of our listeners for their patience and understanding.

Jazz From the Left Moves to Sunday Nights on GCR

Geneva Community Radio is pleased to announce that the excellent Cool and West Coast Jazz program, Jazz From the Left, has moved to Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 PM Eastern. Each week, your host, Raoul, brings you two hours of the best Cool and West Coast Jazz from artists such as Chet Baker, Zoot Sims, Dave Brubeck, Gerry Mulligan, Al Cohn, and many more. So, cool out for a bit on Sunday nights with Jazz From the Left. Also, replacing Jazz From the Left in its former timeslot on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 AM Eastern is a new program to our lineup. Full Moon Hacksaw is a weekly syndicated Jazz and Blues show originating in Phoenix, Arizona, which we hope our listeners will enjoy.

As always, your feedback is important to us here at GCR. Please e-mail your thoughts about our programming to genevaradio@yahoo.com, and, while you're at it, please take a moment to reach out to the hosts of the programs you like on GCR. Let them know you are listening, and that you listen on Geneva Community Radio!

AARP to cancel Prime Time Radio.

Last week, Geneva Community Radio was notified in writing by AARP that it will cease production of its long running series Prime Time Radio at the end of July.

We are sorry to lose PTR, as we've carried the program since we first launched Geneva Community Radio. The interviews and features presented each week were both informative and entertaining. It's been a pleasure having the program as part of our weekly schedule.

The last Prime Time Radio broadcast will air on GCR Monday, July 27th.

Details regarding a new program to occupy PTR's timeslot will be posted on this blog soon.

GCR Adds New Programs

Geneva Community Radio is pleased to welcome several new programs to our weekly schedule. We are very proud of our diverse programming, and we are always seeking out compelling new shows to make our station even better than before.

We have several new musical offerings, including Compact Discoveries, Center Stage From Wolf Trap, Jazz From the Left, Earthsongs, and Juke in the Back. We've also moved the popular World music show Global Village With Chris Heim to a Monday thru Friday evening time slot.

We've also added new spoken word offerings, including more excellent programs from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

Don't worry. All the great programs you've come to expect from GCR are still here. We've shifted the times of some programs to give our schedule a better flow. The complete, up to date program schedule is now posted on this website. Check it out!
