Remembering Terry Doyle

Dear Listeners.

It is my sad duty to inform you of the passing of Terry Doyle, host of the 'Imprint' radio show which was heard on several community radio stations across upstate NY, including Geneva Community Radio.

The details of his passing are still sketchy at this point. We do know that he suffered a heart attack a couple of weeks back, and had been recovering in a Cooperstown hospital. He e-mailed his affiliates earlier this week, advising them that production of the anual 'Imprint Awards Special' would be delayed until next week. Then came the tragic news of his passing on Wednesday, 2/6. My thanks to Gary Wickham at WUOW in Oneonta for sending word of his passing.

We at Geneva Community Radio are proud to have known Terry, and to have been an affiliate of the 'Imprint' program until the very end. This is a tragic loss for local music in upstate NY. To be sure, his program was unique. There will never be another show like 'Imprint'.

We will air the final episode of 'Imprint' one last time this Friday, 2/8, at 4:00 PM. It is unclear at this point what will replace the program in this time slot. Please keep checking this blog, and the schedule page, for those details as they become available.
